My interest in genealogy started over thirty years ago when a favourite Aunt died. I found myself researching her family and before I knew it I was hooked. Over the years what was a pastime became a passion and now I want to share this with others who may not have the time to research their own family history or live too far away from certain Record Offices to research for themselves.
You may of course have come up against a ‘brick wall’ and need some help to find a way around it. Now with eight years professional experience behind me I feel confident that I can help you drive your research forward.
For twenty years I worked at National Trust properties that were open to the public. Over these years my role as House Steward, Custodian, Administrator and Property Manager involved me in many aspects of research. As guardian of the property archives I often researched for guide books, leaflets and permanent and temporary exhibitions. As such I was able to combine my love of history with that of the places and people who had once lived in the country houses I now looked after.
